My lady's over 45!

In bridge that is ... in real life she's %# old and looks a lot younger (what am I gong to say). It reminds me of one of my favourite questions a man can never answer yes to when asked by his lady ...

Do these jeans make me look fat?

I would recommend taking the 5th if ever asked that question. Dominique was up about 6am and we both experienced something that hardly ever, if ever, happens at our house ... she was up before me ... a thrice in a lifetime occurrence. She played bridge with her perennial partner Patsy and, again, their score was over 45%. This is a form of competitive bridge they play and the percentages awarded are based on complex theoretical formula that considers the best possible score that was obtained at the game.

After bridge we headed down to centro, with plans to do the circle around the main drag and end up on Playa Principal. We stopped at two kitchen stores looking for a cutting board at least 14 by 24 inches with no luck. We then walked to Pepe Guitar store on Cinco de Mayo to inquire about buying an electric guitar from Irving. We chatted for a while then he told us about a friend of his trying to sell one. He called that hombre, asking him to send him a picture which he promised he would forward to us. The name of the current owner is Alfredo Moya, the same musician we saw last night playing at Rufo's on the way home from centro. Alfredo apparently wants 5,000 pesos for the guitar, but since the referral is from Irving, he will let it go for 4,000, Should be interesting to see what the guitar he wants to sell is all about. Alfredo is willing to take the ax to the store so we can have a look at it before we buy. Stay tuned for more details.

Saturday turned out to be quite a day. After stopping at Pepe Guitar, we headed over to Cafecito, our fav spot just beside the basketball court on playa principal. The frappuchinos we had were the normal fare ... delicious. Not long after we got home, a message arrived from Pepe Guitar with a picture of the ax Alfredo is selling. Bonus! It's an Asian Epiphone EII and retails all over North America for about $480 CAD (tax in). I will be getting it for about $310 CAD so feel satisfied. I tried it out today and all it needs is a set of strings and a good cleaning of the neck and body. I will contact Alfredo and tell him it's a deal and get the owing 3,000 pesos to him by Tuesday.
