Change is good?
That "may be good" in most situations, but not on the internet. Vendors like to redesign their web sites "for the enjoyment of their clients." The internet is one place where we are looking for stability and the continual "upgrades" of web sites are annoying ... but why do they care ... they are at an arm's length from their clients, so don't need to care.
The topic of money transfers came up over beers on Friday. John from Kamploops BC has been using Wise for years and is happy with the way they do business. I have been using TD Canada Trust global transfer for a while, but always like having a backup route. I looked at and used an outfit called OFX for a while but their web site and bureaucracy is annoying. I told them to close my account. I created one at Wise and transferred the paltry sum of $50 CAD. The interface was great AND they were willing to grab my TDCT banking details after asking me to log into Easyweb. No SWIFT code, institution, and transfer codes required like when I registered at OFX.
That SWIFT code for TD is an interesting one. My warped opinion of most systems in this internOt-based society believes many people and politicians in Toronto think Ontario's boundaries are highway 7, Hurontario, Front, and Markham Rd. Not surprising that TD's SWIFT code is TDOMCATTOR, checking out the last 3 letters ... yes I know is the leading T in their code, but I see it my way. It's like the Je me souviens on the Quebec licence plates. They would like us to believe it means they remember and will never forget their past/heritage. I see it another way.
The smell of cooking chicken wafts through the house most Sundays. My girlie has slipped into one of her colourful shifts and looks delicious. we went for a swim and ran into Helen and Phillip again from Chilliwack BC. They have lived in Vancouver too, where I think he grew up. We reminisced about the Vancouver of old, especially the two years I spent there from '69-71. When I sit in "my spot" in the living room, everything I see that is made from wood is solid perota, except the front door. The place looks more finished since we replaced the small table/stand by the kitchen.
I had bought a small headphone amp to practice my electric and not force the running up and down the neck, scales here and scales there, upon Dominique. The unit i bought is the smallest Vox amplifier I have ever seen. Problem is it is impossible to get a clean signal out of it ... there appears to be now way to suppress all the vibrato and fuzz. Also the way it plugs in to the Epi makes it awkward. The input is on the side of the guitar near the lowers righthand corner. I like the input position on my Fender at home as it is on the body itself near the bridge.
I think we are close to resuming our daily walks/mega walks tomorrow but that is Dominique's call. I tried calling cousin Valerie yesterday but she was just on her way out. I will look for her some other time. I asked my kids a few weeks ago to please keep in touch with my brother Dave and Carol which they are doing, though I have not heard back from Jordan.
