Still busy
Great fun carries on at the beach what with the little ones frolicking in the surf. As the day ends, the number of people in the water gores down. There still appears to be some diehards that stay in the water a lot longer than we think is safe. Recently someone was killed by a shark or crocodile in Ixtapa. I would have thought that the nature of the wounds would lead to one or the other being the predator in this occurrence.
As we walked to the computer store today, the crowds of people and the buses were huge. A few days ago when we were on our way out of the house, she had stopped to catch up with Ranae at the main gate to our condo. I got bored hanging around so headed down to Plaza Kioto and sat on one of the bar stools that had been put there by the city. I tried to move the stool and found it anchored to the ground. Dominique reminded me that if that were not the case they would disappear.
It was the same when I was in Ethiopia and noticed how there were few garbage pails on the street for us to use. I was told it is the same reason. Some of the receptacles on the beach path here are made out of 3" concrete, thereby making them too heavy to remove.
We hit the market for a few supplies, then walked home. It has been one of the (if not the) first times we have walked both ways together since Dominique recovered from her fall just after we arrived in October. She is about 95+ percent of the way there to a complete recovery. Her willingness to climb the big hill to the left of our complex will be the sign that she is fully back. We have gone down that hill slowly many times recently.
Ranae and Lynn's today at 5pm for margaritas. That beverage has a place in my lady's heart as her late husband Hank was a margarita expert with a recipe patented in no less than 200 countries. Our friends Bernie and Patsy call them Hankaritas and they are marvellous.
The wretched humdidity is officially gone and the days are much more comfortable. We got our latest hydro bill and she found it a lot higher than she is used to for October-December. We attribute it to the amount we have been using the air conditioner in our bedroom. We are going to cut back on that. We will use the ceiling fan for now until we get to mount the final few pieces of weatherstripping to keep out little creatures as much as possible.
