Lots of prep

We were up at a reasonable hour since there is no bridge on Wednesdays. We marched off to the market for some veggies. One never knows what we will find there. Late last week the mercado was bare of good looking broccoli. Today there was an abundance of firm, deep green, and fresh offerings. We grabbed two. We cabbed home and the prep for the due this evening proceeded.

We cut up cucumber sticks and made a dip from mayonnaise and chipolte salad dressing. The dressing had a very faint taste of the pepper which was close to non-existent. We shredded boiled eggs and mixed in mayonnaise and capers. We did something similar with some tortilla cups about the diameter of a coffee cup. The ever popular Johnson lightly smoked red sausage was sliced and a dish of olives was filled. We did not fill the tortilla cups early as we did not want the mixture to make them soggy.

Donnie and Dianne arrived about 3pm and off to the pool ... stayed there and chatted for about 45 minutes. We see these folks a lot. Donnie has been struggling to find and have shipped a specific type of e-bike. The sites he has visited show the ones he wants as not available. This hunt he has been on for weeks has led to his realizing he will have to get one where they live and bring it with them in the fall. He has encountered many sites that have something close but they weigh too much. He is finding the hills on some of the treks he takes are getting tougher all the time every year. Not sure if it is him or the hills getting steeper on their own. Waddya think?

Wanda and John arrived about by 5pm and we chatted and munched on the appetizers until about 5:45pm when we ordered the pizza from Pizza Loca. That task went well, though delivering the phone number they wanted was a challenge. The clerk finally repeated the number back one digit at a time then informed us the goods would arrive in about 90 minutes.

Eureka. finally about 7:30 the pizza showed up. We wolfed down more than half of the family-sized pizzas and then I played and a few sang along with some of the songs I was singing. Wanda especially was all pumped up by some of the tunes, like Sugar Shack, It Won't Be Long, A Horse with No Name, and a handful more. Donnie seemed to be intrigued by what was going on. The festivities broke up by 8:30 at the latest. A pleasant time was had by all ...
