Nailed it

We are both getting pedicures today. One of the things I notice most often as I age is the ground gets further away each year. I am not really sure what causes that so, with nothing to blame it on, I will peg politicians for the problem. Hence, trimming my toenails gets more arduous as my legs get longer and it's more of a stretch.

Our junket to Arcadia yesterday late afternoon was pretty standard fare. The noise coming from the adjacent restaurant/bar on the beach was not as intrusive as some other Fridays. Speaking of noise, we were welcomed to something like a Zumba class somewhere downtown with loud throbbing music early this morning. We thank the perpetrator for not starting at 3am, rather waiting until 6:05. There is very little regard evident in this town for the peace and quiet other inhabitants may crave. Wanda, of W&J fame, mentioned a while back that if anyone she knows asks about a quiet retreat in Latin America, that Mexico is not that.

I just reminded Dominique that she and Patsy are not registered for the 8am bridge game online ... she is rushing to get online so they can do just that. Due to my having done all the online games during November, the remuneration was much higher than I am used to ... not complaining 👸. We have a pair that have been playing at our club since the virtual bridge inception in April 2001. Recently they decided they could not play together anymore. If I need to find an additional player or two to start the game, I cannot ask one of them IF the other one would be the recently breakee. Then there's the people that ask me to specifically not pair them up with a certain person. I say OK with some trepidations, honouring requests since they are long time supporters of our club.

We headed out to Lilly's for the pedicure about 10:30. Maria decided to do me first since mine was quicker. She did her thing with me and took a minute out to get Dominique's feet soaking in water. Once I was done, she concentrated on her. I had trouble keeping my eyes open when relaxing there. I must have dozed off a few times briefly. The bill came to 340 pesos or about $26 CAD for the two of us and as usual we left a nice propina (tip).

I finished test-driving a streaming service called StreamQ. I bought a 30 day license to thrash the offering, especially their live TV which they boast to have no buffering. On the two streaming services I have on my TiviMate install on our Amazon Fire TVs, Live is unwatchable. The blue spinning circle appears every 10 seconds at most then when it catches up we have missed what went down when the spinning was happening. During the  single connection 30-day plan. we will watch all our Live TV there. We will have movies/TV series to surf/watch between the two of them. StreamQ has their own app which, to me, says something about their dedication which I believe to be THE player in no-buffering live channels. Their UI leaves a bit to be desired, the search enginge in particular, but hey ... no-buffering trumps any other stuff we may not like.

I watched the last few minutes of the Vikings/Bengals game on StreamQ and there was no hesitation at all. The latter scored 24 points in the 4th quarter then humiliated the opposition by kicking a field goal after the Vikings could not put anything on the board when they had the ball.

The boid is in the air fryer and the assortment of accompanying dishes have been prepared, the salad to be put together close to dinner go-live time. We are hesitant to put it together earlier as the H2O laden ingredients, especially the cucumber, will drench the lettuce and ruin its crispness.
