Fussing around the condo

Every Wednesday we have to prepare the place for the arrival of the cleaning lady named Juanita. All the crap hanging around the place needs to be put in a drawer or some other sort of location to allow her to be thorough as she dusts and more. Dominique is off to Ixtapa with Patsy and Bernie. They are looking for some glasses of a special type to finish off their collection. There is one special spot there which is the best place to look as there is little to find here in Zihua. I believe it is a type of glass that has a blue tint around the rim and the glass appears to have some texture to it.

She will go to Intercam bank to speak with Laura. Recently Laura, on her behalf, paid our fidiocomiso fee for 2024. When gringos buy property on the ocean, this yearly fee comes into affect. When the fee was paid, Intercam sent Dominique an email with a receipt BUT that document contains no identifiable text of where the money went. We believe if she were ever "challenged" to prove it had been paid, the agent who asked would not accept what we already have. Some government locations, not just here, but everywhere, are sometimes very picky about what people produce.

I have had two very unrewarding experiences recently online ... online you say ... how odd as that only happens ALL THE TIME. With organizations at more than an arm's length from their clients, they can pretend to care but really give answers that really mean don't bother us we are very busy.

I received an email from Service Ontario informing me that my small business account  online has not been accessed for over two years. I was asked to log in within the next 60 days to ensure it does not get deleted. I go there and use the forgot password engine. I am asked to enter the email address associated with the account. I do just that and am told if an account exists with that email, I will be sent instructions on how to create a new password. I have tried this 5 or 6 times and the email never arrives. I sent the people an email and their response is to ask me so many questions that most recipients, unless technically savvy, would not have an fu*(*ng clue how to answer . This is their way of helping us ... no it's the let's snow the sender with so many questions that they will stop bothering us ... we are busy, so leave us alone.  I was able to respond but I am pretty sure the next email will suggest I milk the brown cow on the left to solve my problem ... i.e., go away and stop bothering us.

I need to renew my Nexus. I go through all the required calisthenics on their website, and there are a lot, and reach the confirm and pay screen. I enter my payment details, click SUBMIT, and am transported back to the page where the nonsense started. No payment processed. This has happened three times so I ask their help desk for assistance. Their canned response, probably put out by a bot, is try another browser. A two year old would have already tried that and that is the best suggestion they can come up with! Tell you what Mr. Abbey ... another version of let's snow the sender with so many questions that they will stop bothering us, this time being we will respond with a stupid stock suggestion to keep our idiotic users busy since we really do not care about ANYTHING they say.

During all the work I have done on my songbook in preparation for this Thursday at Zihua Bay, I created a set and called it PRIME and placed links to all my favourite numbers, selecting material that I think the primarily gringo attendees will appreciate. There is nothing else left to do before packing up the crap and heading to Zihua Bay about 5:30 Thursday afternoon.

We are going to Playa LaRopa after my board meeting today. Dominique/Patsy/Bernie went there on Sunday and parked themselves at a restaurant called Triton. They listened to the waves and more than enjoyed the ambience of being ocean side. This establishment she has frequented a lot in the past and is a favoured hangout for her brother Michael and Gail when they are in Z. We will walk the beach and chow down there before returning home.

I watched Leyla Fenandez snatch defeat from the jaws of victory at the Aussie Open yesterday. I believe she was up 5-2 in the first set and her opponent took five straight games to win that set. By then Leyla's determination had probably disappeared and she was bounced firmly from the tourney. Of all our players in Melbourne, two women and three men, only Felix Auger-Aliassime is left. He plays very late this evening, what with Melbourne's being 17 hours ahead of us. I am hoping Fernandez, Shapovalov, and Auger-Aliassime have not reached the pinnacle of their very young careers. Bianca Andreescu is so injury-prone that I cannot see here going much further in pursuit of a long time career in pro tennis. Milos Raonic has tried to return to play after a number of years off but it appears the stress and strain of years on the circuit, not to mention his approaching his mid-30s, spell retirement in his near future.

We headed out to LaRopa about 2:15 and the walk to the bar was quick and good exercise. We sat at the restaurant gabbing and drinking for the better part of an hour. We then walked to Rossy's at the other end of the beach. Dominique mentioned it was one of the first two places that opened on LaRopa probably in the 80s. More bebidas and chit chat. We had dinner, but got robbed of a fine subset by cloud cover. Cabbed it home after a wonderful outing. All enjoyed and we will do Trident again.
