Always like a day off

Wednesday we have no bridge and and Monday & Friday are Colin's days to do the bridge games. Most Sundays are days off too, except when there are special games online at which point I do them. If we ever have less than four tables at one of these special games, we will reconsider whether they are worth running and tying me up Sundays as well.

The plan is to go to Intercam Bank and deposit the tips from my Zihua Bay gigs into Por Los Niños' account. The receipt I get from the bank we would use as collateral if there is ever any question about whether I am earning any money in Mexico.

One of the workers here, the cleaner, had gone to Mexico City for some tests. As it turns out she has to stay there for some treatment a lot longer than expected. With Hugo's assistance, a number of owners in this building are contributing pesos for any expenses she will incur as she gets help. The treatment is covered by a health plan but not other expenses.

We walked to Soriana then cut across the street. We wandered through some uncharted territory then managed to run into the street we were looking for where Leon café resides. Lunch was great as it always is at that place. Then we headed to Intercam bank to do our business. We deposited money into the Por Los Niños account and I got some money out. We had a $20 USD bill but the bank would not include that in the deposit as they will not take this denomination unless there is a $200 minimum. These rules, I always guess, are in place because they can be. There is no reason why, in this case in particular. Gotta have a rule to make it as inconvenient as possible for the fools who bank there.

We ran into Andy Smith at the bank, one of the owners in our condo. He was king enough to drive us back home. We had a dynamic conversation  with him about the five nutcase owners at our condo building. I may play bridge tonight at 6:30pm ... a club I have played with many times before, serving Oakville and Mississauga Ontario.

We had chicken thighs for dinner. They are not easy to find here. When we were at Bodega Aurere the day of the taxi service outage we did find some there. They had a lot of meat on them and the way we did them in the air fryer, the skin was crunchy. We have switched allegiance from Soris to Bodega especially based on the experience we had there when we found the chicken.

We watched an episode of Restoration Home together, starting before and finishing after cena. Dominique is very familiar with the host named Caroline Quentin. The episode was about the conversion of a church from 1374 into a home for a couple. The husband did almost all the work himself, though they farmed out some of the stained glass restoration. Needless to say, the outcome was fabulous. The town where the church resides was so thrilled with the conversion that will guarantee the preservation of the building. The tower, part of the church, had second degree classification on a scale of gothic architectural ratings given by England. This show is a keeper ...
