Another week, another bazillion memories

We had a laid back day planned and that's just what it turned out to be. For a change I was up before Dominique, unlike most other days where I am up before her. We both did out own thing around the house, with plans to head to centro to get a few errands out of the way. We headed first to a hardware store close to Plaza Kioto in search of a hacksaw similar to the one we have borrowed from Lynn a few times. No luck there ... so we headed to the Jaguar Negro bakery for two loaves of sourdough. They did have what we wanted but they could not slice them as it was very crowded and busy in the kitchen. They suggested we come back in 30+ minutes and the bread would be sliced and waiting. Great!

We went further into centro and crossed Benito Juarez. We ended up finding exactly what we were looking for at the bigger hardware store we frequent a lot. We still had some time to kill so carried on a bit further to the street where Disude, our favourite cleaning store is located. We hung a right, and 1½ blocks later on the right was a café called Cuattro which we like. I had a Coca, she a coffee, and we forced down a piece of carrot cake ... guess who had the lion's share?

We then headed back to Jaguar Negro for the bread and cabbed home from there. The plan was to meet Nancy at the foot of the hill leading to the place she is staying. Right on the dot she appeared at 4:30 and we were off to Arcadia for the usual Friday night activity ... alcohol and chit chat.

We noticed Roger and Bert at the next table so we joined and partied until about 6pm. Dominique, Nancy, and I had originally planned to go to the hamburger guy by the basketball court, but Roger asked if we wanted to join them at Porteña. Twist our arms ... we all love that spot, Dominique and I having been there already twice since we arrived in early October. The food was as usual ... excellent. They appeared to be at least one server short as it was a bit of a gong show. Due to the company we were with and the love we have for the joint, that did not really matter.

After dinner Roger and I walked to his car and we went back up and picked up the three ladies. We dropped Nancy at her place then we arrived home shortly thereafter. We noticed that Rufo's was full, always checking there on our way by, and being so pleased when he is busy.

I took on two very interesting songs today to be added to my repertoire. These ditties, like so many others I do, fall into a category whose name I invented ... Songs nobody would EVER do solo on an acoustic guitar! The envelope please ... Hey Nineteen and Reelin' in the Years, both of Steely Dan fame! Say what, are you well? We shall see 💋.
