Carefully crafted
I arranged for Colin to do my usual Saturday morning bridge game. Dominique and I went down for the condo AGM meeting just before 9:30. About 1h5m later, we were still struggling with some issues related to how the meeting was called and by whom. The administrator had to cancel the meeting and reschedule for March 9.
We did a whole lot of nothing for the balance of the day except head over to Maderas with Lynn and Ranae for some sustenance and they had something to eat. We shared some low cal french fries, I had my standard Fanta and she a glass of red with ice on the side. We deliberately avoided discussing the train of events from the morning's aborted AGM and discussed every possible topic under the sun instead.
David and Javier were in touch with us a few times and showed up here about 5:15 for the pre-dinner happy hour. We took two cabs to Coco Bahia, there being six of us. The cab wound its way into the La Noria neighbourhood, the exact one we had been in Friday when we went to Chef Palin's. As we got further into the neighbourhood, the road turned into cobblestones and the driver slowed our pace to reduce the jiggling in the cab. We saw the main peer on the other side of the bay just before we got to our destination. I exclaimed "here we are" then Dominique pointed out there were two restaurants here ... ours and Casa Bahia.
We exited the vehicle and navigated up a treacherous set of stairs, fortunately with a railing. We sat on the terrace overlooking the bay and the service started. The menu was split in two. The upper half, with red lettering, listed the tapas dishes. Underneath in blue were the mains.
We ordered two tapas and one main to share. As expected, the food was exquisite both in content and presentation. All the diners were gringos, and the place emptied out before we were prepared to leave. Eventually we climbed into two taxis ... one to transport David and Javier to Irma hotel, the other the four of us back home. We tried to watch an episode of M*A*S*H but, as usual, I sort of dozed off a bit.
