Not as much
Mi chica is not reeling as much over the goings-on at the AGM last Saturday. She is a world champion sleeper and that experience was interfering with her prolonged sleep nights. Things are getting back to normal in that department.
We sent off David (and Javier) last evening, the second of two Robillard brothers we had the pleasure of seeing in the last eight days. I asked Michael if he would take my wireless guitar units back with them to be mailed back to the vendor for repairs. That way they may be back when we return from Mexico. While Gail and Michael were here we ate out every night so it was nice to get back to a home-cooked meal, not to mention cheaper "night out."
We are still sort of recovering from the washing machine flood yesterday. My genius chica spread all the wet towels out overnight so they would dry. At one point yesterday she thought of carting them down the hill to a laundry outlet and get them washed and dried there. Then she remembered the cost of such work is based on the items' cumulative weight. Wet towels are much heavier than dry, so out stuff would command a hefty price.
We have a lunch today with Jeanne and Ray Burnham, some lovely bridge players I first met as far back as 2016 or so. We will head on down to the printer shop after that to pick up a 667 colour cartridge. We have six documents to print related to the pending AGM in mid-March. There is a beige RKK logo in the top left corner of the lead page in each one. The balance of the material is black and white. We long for the 26nw HP laserjet we have at home that runs on a toner cartridge that outlasts the piddly cartridges we use with the HP printer here ... not to mention how the one at home punches out printed pages close to instantaneously.
Before the maid shows up about 11am, Dominique is catching up on laundry that was delayed yesterday by the flood. We have a party at 6pm to celebrate Hugo's retirement as the condo administrator. We know of four of the fabulous eight who are not in Z but Andy, Lynn/Ranae, Leo/Marth (the hosts), and us will be in attendance. We have assembled a cold meat and cheese plate to contribute to the festivities.
I have been testing the prices of flights out west in June. It is a mix of three return flights. The leg from Ottawa to Calgary return has the outbound leg on June 16 with the return on June 29. Thus we will use the Calgary ⇄ Comox and Calgary ⇄ Saskatoon runs between the return flights to Calgary from Ottawa. I found a discount code that was a candidate to use on top of our companion voucher and Westjet dollars, but it expires two days before we arrive back in Ottawa on June 29. It looks like we will get the three return flights for something like $450 each. When I test drive a booking, I have to remember the prices the site quiotes are for both of us and need division by two.
I purchased air for all the above-mentioned flights and the fares were reasonable. I notified Dominique's son Michael when we would be arriving in Calgary from Comox. I also told Sue in Comox what iur itinerary is.
We headed up to Leo and Martha's around 5:30 for Hugo's retirement party. The usual were in attendance and we had two special guests. The first was Judit, Andy Smith's lady and the star of the show ... their 5-month old son. I held him for quite a while while Momma had some food. I had a great time with the little one. Not only did he put his own fingers in his mouth. He put mine there too. Lynn and Dominique said some very kind words about Hugo, the food was great, the company was great ... what else can I say.
