Oh what a night

We had quite a day again Maggie. We headed out early'ish to Doña Licha for breakfast. We split the enchiladas with ¼ chicken dish and could not even finish that between the two of us. We then went on a hunt to find a replacement for the collage of small pictures above our bed.

Our first stop was the Patio restaurant where they always have some works on easels as one enters the establishment. They did not have the plethora of works that we are used ti seeing there. We did inquire about the price on one of them and one of the ladies who works there called someone else to get a price. Needless to say, a crazy way to sell ANYTHING. Had there been a price affixed to the work, and we liked the price of felt like haggling a bit ... quess what - a sale! Who woulda thunk. We see this sort of thing all over Z. It does not seem like rocket science to gringos.

Next stop was near Playa Principal where often artists display their works. We liked two of her paintings but the corners were frayed a bit. She wanted 5,000 pesos but we settled on a tad under 3,000 but decided not to buy due to the state of the two corners.

Dominique remembered there was an art school on the same street as Ccuatro café, a favourite of ours. We checked in at a few art studios and saw nothing much that fickled our tancy and they were way over our price range. We spotted a nice one of a boat resting on the short at the school of art. We spoke with a woman inside who appeared to be doing some cleaning. She summoned another gent who quoted 5,000 pesos as a price. We asked if it could be obtained for 3,000 and he took our number with plans to call us back. He contacted whoever he needed to and called us about an hour later. We arranged to pick up the work abut 11am this morning after bridge.

Spent the better part of the day at home then headed down to Arcadia, stopping at El Duke Fish and Chips to pick up a t-shirt we had ordered. We met Marianna as well as Donny and Diana at Arcadia and had the usual sustenance. We headed off to the main drag to a place where D&D had been many times. Dominique also remembered her being there more than once in the past.

We all ordered the plate of five tacos with pork cooked on a spit and assorted fixings. Each plate was a whopping 50 pesos. Dominique and I ordered mineral water and were told they have none. About ten minutes later, when her regular bottled water had not arrived, she asked and we discovered that one of the servers went to an outlet close to the café and brought us back two Taxco sparkling water. We chatted as we chowed down on the food, and devoured thinly sliced radishes and broiled onions as we ate. They had also delivered four bowls of sauce and some pickled onions to boot. We shared a cab with Marianna and were home by 8:45.

We watched another compelling episode of a limey show called Cold Feet. We were enthralled with the  plot not to mention the brilliance of the actoes, especially the lead named Adam and one of the wives named Jenn. Kudos, yet again, to brilliant British writing!
