Close to the last tango in Zihua
Having breakfast with Ranae and Lynn today, three days from their leaving Z. Dominique going to church for 9am. I will meet them upstairs at 9:45 and we will head over to Carmelita's. The throngs arrive their shortly after church ends so we should be able to get in with no wait.
One of our three tennis players is out of the Miami Open. Shapovalov and Fernandez are both on today's schedule. Auger-Aliassime lost to a powerhouse they call Zverev yesterday. Have not seen anything of Bianca Andreescu for some time. Her goal is to be back for the French Open that runs from May 20 until June 9. Have not heard much either about Milos Raonic either. He pulled out of a recent match and I was surprised that he was back based on some feedback out there on the status of his career.
I spoke to Joe, our handyman, yesterday when he was finalizing the clearing of our balcony at home. He is interested in storing our balcony furniture during the work being done over the next few months. We are glad to give him the equivalent of renting storage somewhere like Dymon. We will chat again about the schedule as we have to reserve the service elevator more than likely on a Saturday since Joe works Mon-Fri in Renfrew, where they moved about 1½ years ago.
Nodded off a bit and almost missed meeting Lynn and Ranae to go for breakfast. We walked down Adelita then turned right by Lilliana's to get to Plaza Kioto. When we arrived at Carmelita's there was a 5 minute wait nfir a table. The food was great as usual though it took an abnormally long time to arrive. We had a nice visit with Ranae and Lynn then went for a walk home using the beach path. The balance of the day is your guess is as good as mine.
Vegged the balance of the day trying to keep out of trouble. We got a last-minute invite to Ranae and Lynn's for dinner. Sweet ... will cook the pollo maƱana. Dominique is cackling away on her weekly fam jam with the fam damily. The usual caller are her brother David as well as other brother Michael and SIL Gail. Her son Michael has not called in for months.
Once back in Ottawa, we will be there until Sunday June 16 at which point we are heading out west ... Comox, Calgary, then Saskatoon. We got a note from Carol saying the IKEA hide-a-bed had arrived. She mentioned that a few guys in her building offered to assemble the piece for her. She thought that the assembly would be a piece of cake. Ya we've heard that before and guess what it turns out to be. Everything at IKEA is easy to assemble except for those that are not ... which is everything-everything which means nothing.
I have been asked to cover two games by the club owner as they take a golf vacation to Virginia over the Easter weekend. The throngs of people are expected to start arriving here mid-week during Semana Santa. We look forward to the squealing from the little ones as they frolic in Playa Madera, a stobe's throw away from our balcony. It's Palm Sunday I heard and had to check in with my chica on what that actually means. A while after we get back in Ottawa will be Passover time for which we are sure to be the providers of gefilte fish to the two seders we usually get invited to. We shall see if and when the invites come. Pesach starts before sundown on Monday April 22, ending after sundown Tuesday April 30.
