Stranger things
The guys showed up yesterday, to our surprise, to do the work on the glass doors to the balcony. About 2pm they started work. The plan was to switch the direction that the rollers are installed to have the larger roller outside rather than in. They decided to scrap that approach in favour of taking out the existing track and moving it a bit further outside. This would allow the doors to be repositioned to be perpendicular to the balcony floor. They took one door off and spent the next 90 minutes or so doing the repositioning. At one point when the work appeared to be done, there was the squeaking noise of plastic rubbing when the left door was opened. After about 30 more minutes of work, and assistance from Lynn, the culprit was found and the noise reduce to next to nothing.
Dominique was over the moon at our getting this work done that was first planned in mid-November. In the scheme of things, waiting four months to get some planned work done here is the same as a much shorter time at home. Then there is the effect the hurricane in Acapulco had on the construction industry what with the massive nature of the damage done by Otis.
I attended our Ottawa condo board meeting today via Zoom. We were up early and trotted off to Lilly's salon to give Maria some stuff we no longer needed. Then we went to Intercam bank and were home by 10:20 or so.
Not sure what will transpire the balance of the day but, for me, I can always amuse myself checking out my wonderful chica. We watched two videos last night on YouTube ... one was a tour of Chapala and the other Ajijic. They were very informative both burgs were rich in traditional food fare, architecture, and native Mexican customs. I left a comment on the page where we watched the Chapala video. I mentioned what a pleasure it was to watch a 30 or so minute video with close to that time spent showing us the town.
So many videos I have watched on YouTube say for 20 minutes contain 9 minutes of incessant chatter by the author and 11 minutes on the true substance of the material. Dominique and I are in agreement that someone's being an expert on a topic does not mean they are capable of teaching (especially beginners) others about the topic of their presentation.
We watched a few episodes again of Cold Feet. For some odd reason the subtitles disappeared as we started season six. What with the accents the actors have in the show, we are missing up to 25% of the dialogue. Hopefully they will return for season severn (of 10).
