Tick-tick-tick

During dinner last night, the magneto used to light the burners on the gas stove would not stop clicking. We tried lighting all the burners then shutting them down but that did no good. Eventually we tripped the breaker after finding which one fed electricity to the stove, with plans to speak to Sigi in this morning. He came up and said what we did was right, but suggested the next time, do what we did, count to 10, and flip the breaker back on.

Sigi was out with his eclipse glasses and I had a quick look at the eclipse. I do not believe that was the sun as it looked like a crescent moon. It was just a sliver when I saw it and maybe it was the sun.

We were up early in anticipation of our trip to Intercam bank. I got out some rice and mixed it with some scrambled eggs to make breakfast. Then I remembered the magneto on the gas stove was misbehaving yesterday and we tripped its breaker to get the clicking to stop. Dominique wondered if we could cook it in the air fryer so I thought I'd give it a try. Like a fool I put the plastic microwave cover over the food and, yes grasshopper, it melted. What a fool. I had to throw out the cover (duh!) as well as the food in case there was any melted plastic in it.

We headed out about 8:45 and went straight to Intercam bank. That was quick then we cabbed it to our last visit to Doña Licha this winter. We walked further into the market and got some veggies. Dominique wondered if we could find a plastic microwave cover at a kitchen store. Brilliant! We checked at a store in the market but nada. We finished our business in the market and headed over to Morales to the more western kitchen store and, lo and behold, two covers set us back 80 pesos. Dominique tried them out when we got home and initially they appeared to be too big for the size of the microwave. Turned out they are OK after all.

Not long after our return, Dominique and Paty went back to Intercam to finalize the creation of an extra account ... liftoff ... that went very well and all is done in that department.

Back home we did some putzing in prep for leaving. I packed up two of the three guitars here and some other assorted stuff. We hit the pool, the first time in quite a while, Dominique thinking it was maybe two months. Leftovers for dinner tonight with some brussel sprouts to round it out.
