Prophet or profit

Still smarting from the goings-on at the INM office yesterday. We had quite a spell of dry weather yesterday afternoon after our foot-plunging walk in the morning and early PM. The sunset was lovely as Dominique would attest, though she had to come in early as the mosquitos arrived. The sky is spotted with thin grey clouds and we are expecting a few dry days to finish off this week.

The bay looks like a postcard of Zihuatanejo Bay, maybe because it is? We were disappointed with what the Mega Soriana store has become/is becoming. They are remodelling an antique (not in a good sense) building's interior, while they have buckets (gathering drips from the ceiling) and cardboard (soaking up said drips) on the floor in many places around the store. The alcohol items now occupy more real estate than before ... surprise ... maybe the biggest profit maker.

When I typed the word profit in the previous sentence, a smile came on my face. I initially spelled it prophet. I find this amusing as some people drink religiously, meaning maybe the store is trying to tap into one or the other ... profit or those unfortunate souls who worship alcohol.

<== Ahora, en inglés ...
Let’s hope we can finish the jobs we started yesterday. Dominique would have expected us to come back with eggs ... that didn’t pass. My mobile phone has a SIM and works well. I cannot use this mobile to listen to my messages on my mobile in Ottawa and I must use Rebtel that uses the internet. ==>

On the blower now with a bridge friend from Michigan. He is at 9,000 feet in Colorado with his mutt. He is living in the car as he prepares for each day's hiking with his mutt. Steve and his bridge partner started playing online at our club in 2020 ... she now has too high a competative rating to play at our club any more. We do not miss her as she was somewhat/crazily cranky.

Had the (dis)pleasure of setting (or trying to) both a Google mini and Alexa unit. I am now convinced that Google and Amazon are in the finals for the stupidest cell phone app. They are both not intuitive and the help one can get on the internet is mostly out-of-date. Also, since Google owns YouTube, searching for something tends to favour that site's results. The majority of YouTube video posters are so busy telling us how great they are they take a few minutes to cover their stellar carreers. Then when the meat of the video starts, the question "supposedly" answered as per the video title does not get f_____g answered. The setup for both was not as turnkey as they believe their apps are. How ridiculous. I give both these vendors a -900 our of 12 for their stupid apps. Do they care? Obviously not ... the disease of the internet, and spreading like a wildfire.

Our errands, at least for today, are done. Our last stop was the market where we picked up veggies and some meat. We spoke to Irving at the Pepe Guitar store and will take the acoustic there tomorrow morning. We have some errands to finish up tomorrow. We almost forgot the eggs again but Dominique remembered at the last minute. Disaster avoided.
