The bridge game I ran today was run of the mill. Attendance is up now that the nasty weather has arrived in Canada. Dominique/Patsy were close to the top of the heap about 15% of the way into the game. Need I say more ⛿ ...

She is working away on some stuff regarding our condo expenses amd I am doing this and that. nowhere near the feverish pace of my lady when she claims to be doing "this and that." For the next part of this post, please get a stiff drink and either sit comfortably somewhere or, if you remain standing, have something solid to hold on to ...

At about 2:15 we are cabbing it to Lilly's so she can get her haircut. Then I will carry on to the market. I have a list and ... tada ... will go shopping BY MYSELF! I have been studying Zihua Shopping 101 since December 2019 and, my mentor, has finally turned me loose. I am honoured and know there will be spotters all over the market on 2-way contact with Dominique so she does not miss anything I may not handle properly. Hopefully this will not be me ...


... however, as much as I think I can handle it, I would say the likelihood of my pulling it off is, in a combination of my and Dominique's opinion,  about a 2 out of 10. It's not rocket science, but when one factors in the fun called spousal expectations/opinions, that 2 may be overstated. I will report on my success and her feedback in a subsequent paragraph to this post. Hopefully that will come to fruition if I do succeed and do not get relegated to our room with no electronics after an abysmal performance.

Ooh what a lucky man

As so eloquently put by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer in their 1970s song. I have been lucky so many times in my 74+ years on this planet. Some of the highlights ... the experience having four offspring and, to date, four grandchildren being in the right place at the right time, being Miami Beach in September 1990 for an Oracle user group conference that ended up sparking a torrid career in high tech discovery of high grade dysplasia, a precancerous diagnosis during a routine scope in 2013 that was arrested by a right hemicolectomy participating in the Canadian government's retraining program in 1983-84 that allowed me to take the four semester course at Algonquin College that kickstarted my ventures into high tech getting to know some folks from the Boston area that catapulted me into the Oracle Press publishing initiative with McGraw-Hill that led to the sale of hundreds of thousands of our/my books over a 15-year period having first-hand experiences in poor east Africa that put into...

Melt the seal ... time is here

Oh my ... how time flies. It seems like only yesterday that it was Wednesday. The place looks like someone is leaving in a few days. The mattress in bedroom #2 has been tood up with the mattress cover side pointing out. The first two kitchen chairs are parked on the cement couch in the L/R. Dominique will ask Paty to drop in after the bridge game Saturday so we can discuss the idiosyncrasies of looking after our place until our return. Doing the extended walk to the end of the canal path past Soris. We will pick up some shredded pork to make sandwiches for the flight(s) on Sunday. We are so close to the end of the line as far as getting the place ready. Other than the Fire TV sticks, the balance of the work involves moving stuff around and covering furniture.
