Overture, curtain, lights

... this is it, we've hit the heights ... and oh what heights we'll hit ... on with the show this is it! To quote Eddie ... a really big shew. The action starts about 11am when we are walking, yes you heard me right, walking to La Ropa. My Dominique is back in the game. Walking a lot and, when we get tired of that, going for a walk. I have a adage about a problem back ... no matter what you do to alleviate the problem back, you often get the problem back.

Bridge naturally first thing this morning. I sent some documents off to Wise so they could process my recent test money transfer. They asked for a head and shoulders and my driver's license. When i started the process of their website, what they were looking for differed from what they said they were looking for. Ain't the internot STUPID. The email they send out requesting more documentation was not f_____g updated when the module that accepts them was changed online. There are a few words that are foreign to most every web siteb operator out there:

Consistency, thoroughness, testing

It is so annoying, and what can we do about it? Nothing. As I have mentioned before, their modules that take money from us work perfectly.

We plan to stop at Adelitas café for a bite when we are out walking today. Lynn informed us there is a massive amount of construction going on all over the road to La Ropa. Hopefully the souls that purchase there will not fall victim to what we are experiencing at Kau Kan ... cutting corners, lying to the client, deferring expensive maintenance to the perspective owner [so the construction company can save some money]. The perota doors in our building are a perfect example. They are not solid, but rather a perota shell sitting on some un(f'ing)treated pine. We spent close to 3,000 pesos last spring to get rid of some termite larvae in 11 what was supposed to be solid perota or at least a shell treated for termites and a perota veneer.

Our only recourse to issues on the internet is to follow the vendor's advice ...

Please use our contact page, located here, to send a request for help from our 24 by 7 assistance. We promise to respond within 2 working days.

What that really means is ...

If you are foolish enough to think we give a s__t, please send us an email and we will laugh, ignore it, and not have to deal with it as we have a filter in our email clients to send ANY correspondence from an external source to the trash can.

The internot is so stupid, I think clamping some vise grips to one's nose would be less painful ...

We had a nice walk to La Ropa beach, stopping at Las Adelitas to share a mixed chicken/beef fajitas. Dominique experienced some pain in her inner right thigh. At least it was not in her lower back. We finished the walk  after the stop for food and cabbed back to our casa. She scheduled a masseuse for 3pm today named Flora, who she has been very impressed with the last few times she was here. She did a cup therapy session where the suction on the affected area is designed to assist blood flow as part of healing of an inflamed area of the body. The belief too is that some toxins that may have collected in the area can be dispersed to destroy their concentration in a problem part of the body.

Just had a call with Nespresso support. We are having issues with the milk frother we bought from them maybe a year ago. The experience was standard fare for how interested most (not all) vendors are in you once the cash has been forked over for the purchase. The chap I talked to did not have a clue on how to relate to clients on the phone as he kept asking me questions, then occupying another seemingly lengthy amount of time explaining what answer(s) I could give him.

Oddly enough, it has been a crazy amount of time since I wasted time on an internet-based help session with what these vendors call "experts." That crazy amount of time can be quantified by one word ... yesterday. That was my most recent debacle related to the internet. I anticipate the next debacle related to the internet will occur so far ahead in the future that it can be sunned up by one word ... today. Need I say more ... I would rather have what is going on the right rather than having to speak with one more help desk agent from a web-based site ...

Root canal over a conversation with a help desk somewhere? "It's that bad you say?" ... actually, it's worse.
