Glad we are not

... in the midst of dashing to big box stores at 3am with our deck chairs and a thermos of coffee. I am sure there is a technique merchants use to convince the shopper that an item is on sale for some deep discount of 45% whereas in reality it is pretty much the same price as it always is. It reminds me of a children's clothing outlet in Ottawa. The owner would bring in a line of snowsuits that should retail at $60. He would price them at $75 then slash 15% bringing the price to $64.75.

I was surfing my Google drive yesterday and ran across a very interesting folder I did not know existed. Camila Suvaric gave me permissions on a folder she owned that contained videos from my retirement party at Pythian in January 2017. I had a look at a number of items, especially 29 minutes of the speech I gave at that party. I just listened to it and it was fun. I wrote a song about Pythian as I was leaving to the tune of Time by Pink Floyd. For some reason the recording of that song was lost somehow and I have never been able to find the document that contains the lyrics.
