A fine young man

I had a chat today with a specimen of the words in the subject of this post. Sean Mallia is turning 26 this year and I have known him all his life. He and his bruver Paddy have been a big part of my life too, Paddy's being two years younger than Sean. Sean is in the midst of interviewing for a position with a firm that has a product that is involved with error handling on the web. I asked him to keep us posted on how that plays out.

He mentioned his bruver Paddy is applying for teacher's college. He was not accepted at the University of Ottawa so is trying elsewhere. Sean and I caught up on what is going on in his life, especially an overview of how it is going with Sophie. They have neem seeing each other for over a year and he seems very pleased with how things are going.

Sigi was in today to do a few chores for us. He is a Jorgé of all trades and we are thankful for that. We headed out for our walk about 10:45. We walked down past Kioto square to see how busy Doña Licha's was. Even though the size of the throngs has diminished, it was still very busy at this place ... good for business but not for gringo. We went to El Patio and I had 50% of my club sandwich and she has an egg dish. We then walked to the beach, then followed Cinco de Mayo to one of the main drags. We then walked home.

Missed our chance to catch up with brother Dave on his birthday. Carol does not go to see him Wednesday, so we will try Thursday. When we got back I put some packing tape on one side of some weatherstripping we bought that turned out to have adhesive on both sides. I bet the item was advertised as weatherstripping when it was really 2-sided ⅛" thick  tape. I trimmed the packing tape as it was wider than the 2-sided offering then cut in the middle to make the weatherstripping two ½" pieces rather than one 1" piece.

Watching the Senators who only gave up five goals in the first period. Oh my! We had also tried to catch up with Kia, Nathan's squeeze, but we missed her. We did get a text back from her with thanks for remembering her birthday. We will hang in the AM then put a lot of looses stuff away as the place gets cleaned by Juanita starting around 11am. We will head out for a walk somewhere when she is here. Now that the humdidity has subsided, we can go out at just about any time. Before it's disappearance, heading out any time after 11am was "risky" from a heat/humdidity standpoint.
