Think whatever was bothering me for a few days I am done with. I have not taken a Tylenol ES since late Monday so basically this thing bothered me for two days, then took two more to disappear. Supposedly exposure plus one to four days is very common. Being uncertain as I am, I had a chat with Rebe at Zihua Bay. I mentioned it would be wise for me not to perform there tomorrow. What is I infected someone and that person was under the impression that the restaurant was "the cause" of the sickness ... not good for business. Rebe agreed with me. I will play there next Monday and Thursday as I am really enjoying the opportunity.

We decided I was feeling well enough to go with Dominique and pick up my guitar at Pepe's. We walked to centro then split up ... she going to the market and I to Cinco de Mayo for the ax. I have Irving an extra 200 pesos as it was his birthday Monday we found out by accident. The work he did on my guitar cost a mere 150 pesos but, with the add-on vodka funding, it was really 350. I told Irving it we discover he did not spend his regalo de cumpleaños on vodka, that I'd be back looking for our 200 pesos.

Back home, the cleaner was just finishing up. I watched some football, Dominique putzed around the house than I practiced some songs and she putzed around the house. She is preparing the second bedroom for brother Michael and Gail who are arriving Tuesday February 13 for a week.

We had leftovers for dinner, then I decided I was going to find a movie for she and I to watch tonight. I surfed the internot for movies with some of my favourite actors and picked about 8-10. Not long after dinner, we looked at what I had bookmarked on the TV and picked something called Australia with Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, and many other familiar faces. It looked familiar and as it turned out we had seen it together before. The second time around was equally entertaining as was the first.

Bridge in the morning then who know what will surface for the balance of the day. We are having company for dinner on Saturday ... friend Nancy from Long Island as well as Lynn and Ranae. They will be treated to one of Dominique's signature dishes, pasta. Actually, she has only one dish in her reportoire ... it's called Signature.

I have been stuck (in a good way) on practicing two Cole Porter songs in my repertoire ... Begin the Beguine and I've Got You Under My Skin. They both have some nifty melodies coupled with catchy rhythms and lyrics. I get quite a kick out of some of the dissonance songwriters include in their songs ... being the tension of two or more notes that don't actually fit together BUT resolve to ones that do. Tension and resolution, being one of the foundations of music, always highlight compositions by these brilliant songwriters.

Ooh what a lucky man

As so eloquently put by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer in their 1970s song. I have been lucky so many times in my 74+ years on this planet. Melt the seal ... time is here

Oh my ... how time flies. It seems like only yesterday that it was Wednesday. The place looks like someone is leaving in a few days. The mattress in bedroom #2 has been tood up with the mattress cover side pointing out. The first two kitchen chairs are parked on the cement couch in the L/R. Dominique will ask Paty to drop in after the bridge game Saturday so we can discuss the idiosyncrasies of looking after our place until our return. Doing the extended walk to the end of the canal path past Soris. We will pick up some shredded pork to make sandwiches for the flight(s) on Sunday. We are so close to the end of the line as far as getting the place ready. Other than the Fire TV sticks, the balance of the work involves moving stuff around and covering furniture.
