Otro buen dia
The day started out with a bridge game cancellation. There is lots of tennis to watch for the next while as the Aussie Open is on now for two weeks. We have 3+ men and 3+ women in the mix. We have so many streaming sports channels it will be a game of roulette finding their broadcasts. Hopefully between TSN and Sportsnet, they will be kind enough to cover our players' games rather than what we see sometimes while struggling to watch one play ... World International Tidily Winks semifinals ... or some sort of "really popular" event with a worldwide viewership of 12. I know it's a matter of what the Canadian channels can afford and whether or not some lowly plebs (like Canadian rather than Spanish players) are worth televising.
The plan is for Dominique to meet Bernie and Patsy for church 8:45, with a 9am mass. They will let me know when done and we will meet at Carmelita's. I am not really sure why we are going there on a Sunday as it is very popular and it may be lunch instead of breakfast by the time we get a table.
Sigi mentioned the guy to do the work on the sliding doors in our L/R will be here this week. Here are the tasks for when they show up:
- Do what has to be done to make the fixed portion of the glass doors perpendicular. This involves some adjustment with the track as well as perhaps reversing the rollers so the thinner wheel is on the inside rather than out. We believe the inner side was mistakenly put outside, thereby contributing to their not being plumb.
- Show us how to remove the stoppers on the sliding doors in the bedrooms so we can move glass ans screen doors past centre. This will make the mounting of any remaining weatherstripping easy. Once we know how to do this, we hope to remount the stoppers and be aware of how to remove and remount when any work has to be done.
When the sliding doors are open, we need something on the inside far edges of the screen sliders to meet the glass doors. This will synch the deal with the gap between the two glass panes and that between the screens and the sliding doors blocked. Theoretically ... bueno .. we will see how it plays out at go-time.
I met the three church goers at Plaza Kioto and we hoofed it over the Carmelita's. There was not much of a wait, less than five minutes. We all had the same dish, Bernie and I withe eggs the equivalent of over easy, Dominique and Patsy with them more well done. We gabbed and gabbed then headed across the street to what turned out to be a very impressive clothing store. Patsy had spotted some tees there that say Hugo Boss and I expressed an interest last year in getting one for our administrator Hugo ... who is the boss? We then walked back to our condo. She went out with Patsy and Bernie, walking to Playa LaRopa and I stayed here to work on my music for Thursday evening. I did some adjustments to the height of my music stand and will get the support pipe shortened tomorrow.
We are just getting ready for our signature 80 minute perfectly cooked whole chicken and at 165°F. Gotta run ... my stomach is more important than blogging but I will be back.
Fast forward a few hours. I claimed I was done practicing, but did get back at it for about another 90 minutes. I borrowed a hacksaw from Lynn and cut the PVC I use to reinforce the music stand and it is now the proper height and in my line of site as I look close to straight ahead.
I just mentioned to Dominique that the low E string is buzzing again on my guitar when using a capo so off to Pepe Guitar yet again tomorrow. I will have to drag along the axe in case it's an action adjustment. I may end up buying a capo from him ... we shall see.
