Approaching my third week playing at Zihua Bay. Some friends are joining us tonight for the "show." I have pretty much architected then next version of my posture and how I hold the guitar. I cannot let my eyes stray far from my songbook as some of the chord changes are frequent and involve barring up the neck. I think I have managed a technique where my guitar neck is in my peripheral vision enough that I need not move my eyes far.
Have worked and will do a bit more on the second Harmonium song I play for Marc André and Laurent who will be there this evening. The first of two is more familiar. The streaming service I test drove yesterday did not work out. The video was choppy and impossible to watch. I tried another one today and same result.
The 11:30am bridge game did not happen. We met Bernie and Patsy upstairs and walked to Playa LaRopa. We cut into the beach where the dolphins sculpture is then walked in and out of the water to Rossy's at the other end. We walked back to Triton but were told they were not open yet. It seemed odd that a place would be closed all morning during the high season. We ate at Patys. The company was great, the drinks cold, but the food, at least for me, was not stellar. May have been my own fault for ordering a hamburger.
I put new strings on my guitar in prep for the gig tonight. I cut the strings before i pushed them through each machine head and with the first string, that was a mistake. I could not get a firm anchoring portion of the string because it was too short. Silly me ... I took the high E string from another set. Next time I will remember to make sure the string is anchored to the guitar before cutting.
Off to Zihua Bay about 5:45 and looking forward to entertaining the crowd again tonight. Will report on the festivities when we are back home about 9:15.
