Todavia más trabajo

Still working away feverishly on my music. Now that I am performing weekly at Zihua Bay on Thursday 7-9pm, I need to be more polished. No just sitting on the couch in our L/R and singing away. I am polishing how I used the mic and finalizing the position of my songbook so it is in my line of sight. Version 23.9.7.004.3 has me sitting towards the right front corner of as chair which has a few bonus characteristics as follows:

  • I can place my guitar sort of between my legs with the neck coming up at about a 45° angle, perfect for the calisthenics of bar chords
  • It frees up my right foot for keeping time.
  • The way I hold and angle the guitar does not interfere with my wireless sending unit.
  • With my songbook positioned right in front of me, all I need to do when I want to look at the guitar neck is move my eyes not my head. When I move my head I easily lose track of where I am in a tune.

We left for centro about 10:30 this morning. First stop was the office supply store where we colour printed the new posters that Ranae was kind enough to design for us. We then went to Clinica Optica where we left my broken glasses on Saturday. The lady there made a call or two and the verdict was, we believe, YES ... they will (we know we have our suspicions that may change) be able to fix the damage I inflicted as an idiot.

Next was Pepe Guitar which, when I mentioned going there today, was told yesterday ... I am not going to Cinco de Mayo, it's too far ... and you can guess who I heard that from. I got Irving to adjust the neck to eliminate some buzzing on the 6th string when the capo is on. I bought another capo from him and we had a lovely visit with him as usual.

We then headed to the two bakeries to get some bread we had ordered. We then cut across the pueblo and Dominique managed to find a place to buy a lovely dress. And, by the by why we were on our way to the place too far, she did some browsing at a few kiosks. Hey, once you're inconvenienced by someone (aka me), you might as well do some scouring of items that we need .... we? I do not remember ever wearing a dress.

I managed to watch Auger-Aliassime beat someone today at the Aussie Open. Leyla Fernandez plays in the round of 64 tomorrow. Milos Raonic pulled out of his match and Denis Shapovalov got eliminated in three sets yesterday. Milos will probably retire officially soon as he will be 34 this December and hos limbs are just not what they used to be.

When I first noticed Milos in professional tennis, I was amused by Seinfeld's episode (S8E13) where a fake tennis pro makes a fool of himself and was named Milos in the episode. Ranae is down for happy month and I am going to hide in our bedroom as I would not understand anything they talked about anyways. What amuses me too, about what I call happy month rather than happy hour, is one day's event overlaps with the next and the former, at the same time, and who is keeping track!!
