Wednesday especial
We checked to ensure the taxis were running again then headed out for Sams club about 10am maybe. That was the usual walk, though we debated whether to use a new-found route or the one we have always used through centro. Sams was Sams and we picked up some sustenance and mi chica got some wine. Once back at the house it was a laid back afternoon with not much happening. We headed down to meet Patsy and Bernie at 4:40 and headed over to El Duke for fish and chips. The couple that runs the place are fabulous and we treated ourselves to their one and only signature dish - English fish and chips. The three others polished off a bottle of white and I downed two Victoria cans, one of the most popular ales in Mexico.
I have bridge tomorrow at 8am then maybe a second game at 11:30. I doubt that later game will go as we need at least 16 pairs registered to allow the game to start. Dominique will go with P&B to LaRopa and, if my late game does not happen, I will run down and join them.
I am test driving another streaming service and my initial opinion is the bandwidth of the internet in Mexico cannot support this vendor's offering. There is a lot of hesitation in both live and video on demand component of the offering. I will thrash it some more tonight and then make a more informed decision if I want to buy from them.
This is where we went for dinner, probaby the only true English fish and chips place in Latin America. Duke is the name of their deceased dog, hence the name of the eatery.
We saw something else today at Sams that was a shock. They have an imitation of the liqueur called Triple Sec here. They call it Controy. It is not easy to find and most of the times we wandered through a liquor outlet since we got here, there was none to be found. Never guess what we saw at Sams ...
In that case, not needing any, we walked away ... da boom boom chin.
