2 days and counting

Until Michael and Gail get here that is. Dominique managed to get the info we were looking for from Suspiro where we plan to go Wednesday for Balemtimes. She got a run down of the menu and the price is 1,110 pesos per person which probably does not include alcohol. It may be like some weddings we have been to where wine is complimentary.

Dominique is off to church. She will be meeting Nancy at the bottom of the hill and they will go together. I am still 50/50 as to whether I will watch the Superbowl at 5:30pm here. I would rather watch with someone else then we can both be armchair coaches and feed instructions to both quarterbacks.

I watched close to all of a Sens/Leafs game last night. The Sens seem to have figured out that they cannot win with the puck in their end 85% of the time. It was intriguing to be told the Sens have the best W/L record against division opponents in the league. Who woulda thunk?

Dominique and I will discuss what remaining Thursdays I will play at Zihua Bay. The week of March 4 is GuitarFest so that Thursday is out. Good Friday is March 29 so that week is out as well. She mentioned as we get closer to our April 14 departure that we will be too busy to take the 2¾ or so hours to travel there, set up, play, tear down, and come back home. I find it a rush as it has always been a treat and very special to me to be given the opportunity to (try to) entertain people with my music.

I will have to shrink wrap my gigging equipment when we leave for the summer. The paper store on Benito Juarez has wider roles of the wrap so we may end up using their stuff. I did this with the Acer laptop I have left here twice so far and it worked perfectly. I will put the mic stand in the box it came in after detaching the boom portion. This is the only way it will all fit in its box. The three guitars spend the summer in soft cases on one of the closets in our bedroom.

We are discussing with Carol, my brother's wife, about our coming out to Saskatoon. We suggested she might be willing to get rid of one of the recliners in their living room and we would buy them a sofa bed. She has scoped out a model at IKEA that she likes. We will discuss further with her once she does some measuring to see if the model she saw would fit in the room.

She has gotten rid of a large desk that Dave used and that has freed up some space that she thinks may be enough to accommodate the IKEA item. More discussions needed. If we are able to stay with her when we go, that could easily save us something like $800+ which could/would come very close to the price we would have had to pay for accommodation in Saskatoon. She would also then be able to offer visitors accommodation which may increase the number of people that are kind enough to visit with her from out-of-town.

I broke down and watched the SuperBowl. My best friend was the mute button but sometimes I was a bit slow and had to listen to a few microseconds of crap. All I can say is there were 4+ quarters of football. By the end of the fist half I am sure everyone thought there was a chance that Kansas City was out of it. Dominique watched the overtime with me, the first football game she has watched for a millennium. I watched double the football this year that I have ever watched before ... one of the conference championship games and then the SuperBowl.

The half-time entertainment was nauseating and Usher should only know that HE is the only one on the planet that thinks he is as great as he thinks he is. The $$ spent on that show could fund five east African countries for a year. Remember the saying Nero fiddled while Rome burned? My take on that ... western world is People are getting slaughtered while the West carries on. I don't know what else to expect when society is being run by some self-serving p__c_s who live in NaNa land and care about NOTHING they claim to be at the forefront of their meagre minds.
