I'm back
Since early yesterday I am feeling like myself again ... what a ridiculous thing to say. Maybe I'm feeling like the cookie monster? I will play twice next week at Zihua Bay, Monday as well as Thursday. 14 table bridge game today. These players are hungry for extra masterpoints.
We plan to walk to Soris after the game. Even though I am back, I will stay outside while she goes in for lettuce. I believe this may be all we need for the pasta fiesta on Saturday. Once we have the good, we will walk further along the path, and come back on the other side.
As of Saturday, we are three days away from the arrival of Michael & Gail. The excitement builds. We spoke to someone at Suspiro about dinner there on Valentine's Day. It was a bit confusing, and she was asked for her name a few times. The person we spoke with was not able to tell us the details of what the special meal will entail. It was suggested we call back next week to find out. We will check a week tomorrow. We ate there last year with G&M. It was pricey but the food, the ambience, and the view were exquisite.
The view of Zihua Bay from Suspiro is magnifico as one is up what seems to be ¼ km, which may be close to the truth. I had the pork chop last year when there and needed a ladder to climb to the top with my knife and fork as it was so thick.
Dominique was all excited (as was I?) about some increases in her incoming dineros. One of her stipends has increased as of this year by $4 CAD) per month. We have plans to chat for however long it takes to arrive at the most effective and result-producing way to spend this windfall to enhance our standard of living.
I had another ridiculous event with Service Ontario related to my small business account I set up in 2017. As it turns out, they have moved to a new system and the F'ING emails from the old ones that were supposed to be disabled WERE STILL WORKING. Thus about two hours of time I have spent on trying to reset my password in the old system (which should have been off-lined) have been a waste of time. As it turned out, the account I set up seven years ago was automatically closed in 2022! Thus the stupid emails I received in December '23 and January '24 were in reality designed to:
- Initiate activity by yours truly which was a 100% futile endeavour as the system "supposedly" did not exist anymore ... but was not taken offline
- Impress upon the rabble how efficient Service Ontario is at driving their users completely nuts
On a scale of 1-129, commonly accepted as the IQ range for people rated extremely low to superior, the geniuses that are responsible for these systems have an IQ in the range of 0-2.
We had breakfast for dinner and I am pleased to report that all our eggs were fried to perfection. She was on the phone with her BFF Ranae for what appeared to be 7-10 hours total all day. Guys - hey, how's it going - anything new? Ok bye. Gals ... {say as many words to one another as there are kernels of corn on a bushel of cobs}. All of those words, on their own, could bring about world peace. We watched our second Kidman movie in successive nights. This time it was The Interpreter and we were not disappointed. It got a 5-star rating from Dominique, delivered with the following three words - not so bad. She did like it and Sean Penn was great as well. Plot was OK and I, of all people, predicted the role a central character played in the plot as it unfolded. I can only imagine that a large portion of the $80+ million budget was spent renting space in Manhattan Midtown to film much of the flick. Or maybe it was all done with a product made by Adobe S/W, the king, in my opinion, of Windows graphic offerings.
Speaking of renting streets and neighbourhoods in big cities ... when I used to go to San Fransisco for a show called Oracle Open World, they closed a block of Howard street for eight days so the north and south halls could pretend to be one. My guess is no less than 10 digits US?
