It's up in the air
The flight from Montreal carrying Gail and Michael, that is. They took off a few minutes early and are expected to touch down about 2:35pm our time. We head out to Tehita for dinner but will probably snack a bit here before going.
We heard music from the main beach last night then Dominique figured out it was the opening night event for SailFest. This two-week extravaganza raises money for Por Los Niños fund which enriches the lives of the youngsters in this town. I checked the event schedule online in case there was some sort of show on either this or next Thursday evening. If so, that would drown out what I was doing at Zihua Bay. Nothing planned as I detected.
We have reservations all over town for dinner while Gail and Michael are with us. It's a lot more than we usually eat out, but c'est la vie. Her brother David and mate Javier arrive on Saturday and are here until Wednesday. They stay next door at the Irma ... the festivities while they are in town will be ongoing. We usually get our joint cleaned Wednesday morning. With company coming later today, we arranged to have it done today instead.
I have been lucky with the uninterrupted length of time I can sleep once in bed. Lately I have had many nights where we crash about 11:15pm and the next thing I know it's 6:30am. That sometimes contains one waking up but getting back to sleep close to immediately. Time will tell how all this proceeds. Dominique is a sleep master and will often shut her eyes at 11:30 and next thing she knows it's 8am.
There's some heavy discussions between Dominique and Ranae this morning and it is always best for me not to know what they are planning. Sometimes when they are together her I hide in the bedroom for two reasons ... they are free to engage in girlie talk (untethered) and I know what they discuss would be over my head. It's sort of like the difference between the way guys and gals interact. The length of the discussion between guys is usually less than 2 minutes and contains a lot of oh ya and me too and gotta go. When the ladies spend 2 minutes together chatting, they have already covered 13 topics and are headed for another few hours of intimate discussions that, if anyone were interested, could solve all the world's problems. The chat they just had ended with Lemme know, thanks so it could be anything AND even though I am curious what they have planned, it's probably better that I do not know.
Our 9-table morning bridge game is just wrapping up. The cleaner is supposed to be here about 11 o'clock so we will find a safe spot in our abode and camp out there.
Michael and Gail appeared very early after their flight from Montreal. I wish we had that sort of luck in our last to arrivals in Zihua in 2022 and 2023. Thet breezed through customs and were let in my Hugo who just happened to be upstairs at the main gate when they arrived. Off to Tehita for munchies about 6pm. Then there is the main event where José Luis Cobo, the Godfather/grandfather of music in Zihua who starts at 7. What a treat ...
