No Bomberos

We were told by Ranae that the event we planned to attend at 6pm last night was a shadow of its former incarnation. She said that the lead person as well as most (if not all) the volunteers of the event in the past were not running it this year. We decided to pass and ended up at Irma next door for dinner.

We decided to repeat what may be turning out to be a Domihael tradition ... splitting an appetizer then same with a main. We got the guacamole which we new was wonderful from previous encounters. We then spilt a chicken with rice and veggies dish. When the main arrived we were shocked to see how the food was split between two plates. It was as if each of us ordered ½ of the order, except the two plates was a pleasant surprise. Most of the time when we split a main, it arrives on a plate accompanied by an extra plate for us to divvy up the goods. Kudos to Irma, something we do not remember experiencing. The food was good. We then trundled home for two episodes of the Brit comedy Cold Feet and finished off the evening with a M*A*S*H episode prior to our pre-sleep cuddle, a huge part of our daily routine.

We stopped at a gallery near Rufo's to get a painting taken off its frame. We left it all with the owner and trundled off to centro to get a PVC pipe to transport it back to Canada. We stopped at one hardware store and the 10cm pipe they wanted to cut for us was filthy. We headed to the main store and got what we needed. Back at the gallery, all of a sudden the 24½" measurement we took was short and the rolled up work would not fit. This was because the canvas was wrapped into the wood borders and stapled to the back.

The owner managed to fit the painting in the tube, also taking apart the frame and placing it in the pipe that had room. Live and learn ...
