Solid company

The gang will be treated to a meal fit for a gang. We discovered Ranae is making her garlic bread so the excitement builds. I watched Auger-Aliassime in the semifinal this morning while running a bridge game. Accolades to him for getting this far, but he was taken down in three sets.

While watching the game, I was unfortunate to see commercials for new drugs from the pharmaceutical giants. One of them boasted a whopping 251 participants in a study that proved their offering was effective and would turn around the lives of gullible participants. That was very convincing since that that a whopping .0000002% of the earth's population (and I may be missing a few leading zeroes) required to prove how dramatic their new offering is. It may be enough for Health Canada and the FDA to approve. I am sure one of the criteria is the manufacturer has to prove there are no long-term side affects. Balderdash to the billionth degree ... can we talk in 65 years?

It's been 129 days (a world record) since my bothersome bleed started in my nose. This time I caught it so early, it only bled a few drops and it was done. That too is a record. I will admit I was somewhat (interesting how we use that diminutive as an excuse) neglectful lately withe steaming my nostrils. I have been good at moisturizing with Nozoil or Neilmed nasal spay. The counter has been reset.

We are expecting some replacement innards for both our toilets today. They both suffered from not filling the bowl and/or filling on and on syndromes. Sigi cleaned inside the bowl, eliminating calcium and salt buildups a few weeks ago but they have returned.

We got an email from Hugo this morning about a stat holiday this Monday. There are so may of these in Mexico such that employees may get a long weekend as much as 24 times a year for stats and civic holidays. Then there are another upwards of 22 festivities that some states may end up giving workers a day off. The beach is not that busy even though Monday is a day off ... we always look forward to the din of squealing youngsters frolicking in Playa Madera.

The company arrived about 5pm. Ranae and Lynn brought salad and garlic bread as planned. The spaghetti was well received and there were close to 12 glasses of wine consumed by the masses before dinner. The chit chat was dynamic and Lynn left about ½ hour after dinner. Ranae stayed to chat with the ladies. I sang the More song that I learned for Nancy and she was emotional after it was finished as I believe it was the favourite song for she and her late husband Joe. With the three damsels chatting in our L/R while I am writing this, the topics they discussed were a mystery to me.
