A fine time was had by all

The birfday dinner at La Tejita was a big hit. We headed out about 5:45 and there were no other tables occupied there when we arrived. We did the usual round of drinks and the conversation was heated and great fun. The sound of the waves was intoxicating as usual, mainly due to the restaurant's proximity to the water. The waves are still bigger than we are used to with lots of ideas as to why.

I mentioned the chili pasta to Ben and how spicy it was. He got that. Dominique ordered off the lunch menu as did I. The pasta I had was well adorned with tidbits of seafood as promised on the menu. My Caprese salad entrée came the shape of a short tin can, nicely packed together with its dressing leaking out the mound. Plunging a utensil into the compote causes it to collapse all over the plate.

We had a brief chat with Paco, the owner, thanking him for the complementary bottle of wine. By 8:15 or so Ben in particular was beat so the party broke up earlier. Quite a contrast I am sure on how Dominique's 23rd would have played out. It might have involved in a shindig that had a lot more alcohol and a much later end time.

Ben, while in Ixtapa, managed to place a lit cigar down somewhere after which it somehow ended up on the sidewalk. He then stepped on the item and singed one of his small toes. Ouch! Dominique offered to clean and sterilize the wound but Ben declined. We shall see how this plays out today, especially how it affects his mobility.

Lynn and Ranae had a death in the family and will change their departure from Z date to get home for a celebration of their son-in-law's life in early April. It looked for a while like they may be away this Friday when the second RKK AGM is scheduled. Dominique was relieved to hear they will be at the meeting after all.

Based on a recent quick visit from the windows outfit that is supposed to be working on the balcony doors, we were told they would be here to do the work today or tomorrow. It's a crap shoot as to whether they will indeed show up this week.

Shortly after Dominique went up to chat with Ranae, Ben, Crem, and I headed out, our first top being Doña Licha for befass. The fare there was usual as usual ... We then headed toward the main beach and walk the shops on Cinco de Mayo. The chachkas there were as expected ... chachkas. Next we hit Arcadia and the kids hit the surf for about 30 minutes. We walked the beach path back home. Crem and Ben went to the pool as soon as we were on the property. They stayed there longer than I had expected so they are now grounded.

I did some more edits on my song book, working on a master alphabetic list of artists whose material I do. Using Word's in-document hyperlinks as well as bookmarks I have built a massive set of both to navigate around the 1,300+ page document with ease. I started prepping dinner while Dominique worked on the document from the meeting with Ranae. She finished that and took over the balance of the meal prep.

We have big plans for this evening ... sitting on the balcony consuming alcohol as well as sitting on the balcony consuming alcohol and lastly sitting on the balcony consuming alcohol. To say Crem like the balcony is an understatement. She hallucinates and starts to vibrate when within 10 feet of the balcony she loves it so much.
