Back on the road again

Returning to Zihua Bay for a gig this evening after taking a week off during GuitarFest. Bought a few CDs there and always happy to help out the musicians. I will lig the folding chair we bought a while back as it provides the best way to sit up straight and hold the guitar such that:

  • I can see the neck for the bar chord changes above the 3rd fret by holding the guitar closer to me and more vertical
  • I need to do as little turning of the head to see both the neck and my songbook
One needs to avoid turning the head when using a mic as the vocals dip while the head turns. I have perfected a way to pivot as required using ,y upper back and neck in unison.

We have an invite to Kris and Paul's for lasagne on Saturday night. Lynn and Ranae will be there too. Dominique off to Soriana's to get some ice cream for that event. We are just over 24 hours from the next run at the condo's AGM and Dominique is not feeling so stressed as she has been a number of weeks ago. Ben and Crem still crashed on their last full day here before returning to Toronto tomorrow. They have the excitement of moving when they get back to a new rental not far from Joe Shuster Way where Ben is now living. He sent us pictures of the new hacienda and they will be able to accommodate visitors as they have the spare room now. Sweet!

Called my old buddy Patt Duncan today as it's her birfday. Patt and I go back to late 2014 when I was brand new at this game of bridge and she took me under her wing. This Sunday marks the start of the last four weeks in Mexico. It has been quite a rush and hoping the AGM tomorrow will reduce the stress my lady has had on her shoulders as President of the security committee since Mar 1 2023 ...

We were informed by Hugo that the guys would be here to do the work on the sliding glass doors to the balcony today. No less than 30 minutes later, the appointment was moved to next Tuesday. Next Tuesday in this town could mean Tuesday next month or decade :). We had decided not to go to the beach with the kids so we could be here when the work is done. When the postponement was mentioned, we decided to stay home anyways.

We left for Zihua Bay just after 6. I set up and then had a shrimp salad for dinner before my gig. The place filled up steadily and at teh peak there were close to 40 people there and one table alone with 11 people. I enjoyed the evening as did the attendees and especially Ben, Crem, and Dominique. We at back at the condo now and it is very warm in here. Dominique is speaking with Ranae for the latest updates on tye debacle tomorrow AKA the AGM.
