Sharing ownership of one in Ottawa and being with Dominique who owns one in Mexico gives us the pleasure of running into these idiots in two places. In Mexico it's a group of five owners who will not support any initiatives proposed whatsoever ... the reason ... someone else thought of them. It has nothng to do with whether they support or do not support the initiative. They are more concerned with fighting everything even if it will maintain the property value of their unit. In Ottawa, it's a few owners who harass the board with their (one out of 218 owners) opinion on a decision the board has made. Their version of the problem with the Board represents .45% of the owners and they want replies and immediate attention to their issues. As a board member in Ottawa and living with one in Mexico, I have suggested ONLY replying to the latest diatribe with the following:

Thank-you for your feedback. Please consider becoming part of the decision-making process by running for the board in the upcoming AGM.

Engaging in a long 2-way dialogue with these people is time consuming and a waste of the board's time. Part of the ongoing problem here, in my opinion, is someone responds to their nasty emails and that perpetuates their existence.

Last October one owner here (treasurer on the AC committee) sent out a nasty email accusing others of not sending timely reports on the financial status of the association. My response to that would have been ... please discuss with the treasurer. And yes, my suggestion would have been to speak with yourself ⛔ [you idiot].

Oh my ... how time flies. It seems like only yesterday that it was Wednesday. The place looks like someone is leaving in a few days. The mattress in bedroom #2 has been tood up with the mattress cover side pointing out. The first two kitchen chairs are parked on the cement couch in the L/R. Dominique will ask Paty to drop in after the bridge game Saturday so we can discuss the idiosyncrasies of looking after our place until our return. Doing the extended walk to the end of the canal path past Soris. We will pick up some shredded pork to make sandwiches for the flight(s) on Sunday. We are so close to the end of the line as far as getting the place ready. Other than the Fire TV sticks, the balance of the work involves moving stuff around and covering furniture.
