Day after day

Tuesday (aka yesterday) started with my not doing the 7am bridge game as we did not have power back yet. We reported it to Hugo about 6:30am and he called CFE who told him they were working on it. They told him when he called that the ETA of the fix was 60 minutes. We told Lynn and Ranae so there was no duplication of effort. By 11:30 my son Ben asked if there was an expected fix and I told him the initial ETA was passed four hours ago. I did a bit of tethering from my cell to do a few things related to bridge.

The power came back about 3pm all of a sudden. As we found out well after the return of power it was caused in centro by a vehicle running into a CFE box of some sort. While power was out we could not run the toilets since the water they use is pumped from the basement to the roof then gravity takes over. We got a few 19 litre bottles from Sigi to use in the toilets. We got them just before the power returned which may have given CFE more of an incentive to get the power back on 😐.

We headed out to grab a cab about 6:10 for the trek to Coco Bahia. The trip there got bumpy the closer we got due to the cobblestone roads in La Noria. The food was great as expected. Dominique and I shared two tapas dishes as well as our own main. We were home by 9pm and watched another fabulous episode of Cold Feet.

We were up this morning in time for me to go to the pier with Crem and Ben and Dominique to meet with Ranae for more work on the process at the AGM this Friday. We met the vendor about 9am and 3 of us got on the boat. We headed out of Zihua Bay, experiencing some whale watching opportunities along the way. We saw a number of pups and adults jumping out of the water before we turned towards Ixtapa. As we headed towards Ixtapa the frequency of whale activity dropped. We started heading back about 11:30 and did see some whales briefly on the way. The MC put a microphone in the water a few times so we could hear chatter from the whales in the water. We heard no whale generated noise but it was worth the try.

We stopped at Any restaurant for a quick bite before coming home. Once back, Crem lasted here less than 15 minutes was off to Playa Madera. Ben is grabbing a nap and Ranae/Dominique are having their first (of many?) get togethers today. For 6pm we are going to Maderas for their candlelight dinner in the beach. I asked for a table close to (but not in) the water.

This is Ben and Crem's penultimate last full day here. We re thinking of leaving for LaRopa tomorrow about 9:30am, when I finish running a bridge game. for as much of the day as Crem and Ben want. They were at Patty's Miramar already and were wild about the ambience and the beach.

Putzed around the house doing close to nada for the balance of the day. Ranae is here for happy hour #2 of the day. I still insist that the two of them should get a room or at least move in together. Crem stepped on something while down at the beach. When we were out whale watching today, one of the guys went in the water to snorkel for 30 minutes or so. He was pierced by one or more tentacles of a sea urchin. He asked the lady running the show on the boat for tweezers to pull some stingers out. It appears that there was more than one. Crem thinks she too may have stepped on one but claims it's no big deal. Dominique offered to sterilize the wound, if any, but she said it was not necessary.
