First inmate
Our ridiculous Ontatio premier wants to create more prisons to keep criminals where they belong. I have an idea for the first inmate ... how about the premier for mishandling COVID, scheming with colleagues to waste public funds, doing nothing to ease the shortage of doctors, and forcing hospitals to close their emergency rooms over some weekends. Sounds to me like criminal negligence causing death. How many people died due to the way that idiots mishandled COVID. Politicians' excuse was that society had never gone through something like this before. They had so little experience they made political rather than humanitarian decisions throughout.
There was an article in the Globe and Mail late in COVID that I am sure got shut down by the government where the reporter outlined how a chain of dollar stores was deemed an essential service and allowed to stay open during COVID shutdowns. Then it turned out it was owned by a close friend of the premier's. The Salvation Army thrift stores were not allowed to open! I rest my case your Honour.
We have a non-action packed week lined up for Ben and Crem. They had planned to spend a night in Ixtapa. Dinner plans tomorrow for Dominique's birthday is the only plans we have for them. Our week with them contains my playing at Zihua Bat on Thursday evening. Dominique is going to the condo AGM Friday morning. Ben/Crem asked to eat at home tonight so they are getting Dominique's spaghetti dish, always a crowd pleasure.
The time change in Ottawa tonight moves the bridge games to 7am here from 8am. Thought that can seem like a nuisance, it makes the day more open as I am done by 9:15 rather than 10:15. The day we fly from Comox to Calgary in the morning is one of my bridge days so I will ask Colin or another director to cover me.
I grabbed a cab to the airport about 1:15. I had a chat with the driver almost all the way and he commented how good my Spanish was. When I got there he wanted to hang around and take us back to Z. I asked if the cab drivers there would be OK with that. He said we could walk to the café where he would hang out and grab him there. The flight had landed by the time I entered the airport. A mere 70 minutes later Crem and Ben exited the secure area. He had texted me inside and mentioned how ridiculous customs was. Agreed. We cabbed back to the hacienda and the kids were duly impressed with the condo. We chatted and snacked for an hour and a bit then the kids wanted to check out the beach.
We went to Maderas and they went in the ocean. We are now back at the pad as Dominique puts the finishing touches on pasta for dinner. Ben lined up a DJ gig at a club in Ixtapa. We will accompany him and babysit Crem while he performs. Should be an interesting hour of BJ spinning some sounds.
