The last ship?
Sam's club after bridge today. This may be the last trip there before our departure. Having Lynn and Ranae for dinner this evening ... the last in Z before they fly out tomorrow.
Read about the most recent bridge collapse in Baltimore USA ... USA not Maryland. On a show I watched called Engineering Catastrophes there were a few episodes about bridge collapses. One or more was caused by a ship running into the bridge. As a few of the bridges in these episodes were rebuilt, there were some concrete pillars imbedded in the bottom of the waterway to protect a them against just this. It is sad that accidents happen, people die, and then what should be done during initial construction is finally implements. All part of that ridiculous approach to life ... it can't happen here. My comeback to that is always ... until it does.
Needless to say, whatever information is released to the public will be between 90 and 100% lies. The authorities do not want to jeopardize their support from large shipping companies who probably played a role in their becoming authorities. Not long after the accident, the company that owns the ship said there was no contamination of the river over which the bridge spans. A trustworthy source of BS if you ask me ... the owner of the guilty ship ... p l e a s e. My Dad had a line about the way we are treated by the "authorities" ... like mushrooms, they keep us in the dark and feed us s__t.
We ended up at Soris rather than Sam's club. We took the long way there, walking down one side of the canal path then doing a 180 crossing over to the other side. We initially, so I thought, were off to buy tomato sauce for my chica to make sgetti tonight for our guests. We got quite a bit more including a medium-sized can of jalapeño peppers that i blended to make green sauce. Other than that ... a normal day at B2 ... Dominique madly working away in the kitchen and me doing nada.
Dinner with Ranae and Lynn was wonderful as was the sgetti my chica made. We chatted about everything under the sun. Once done at Lilliana's about 11am tomorrow we will hurry back here for the sad farewell. This will be Dominique mañana ... maybe for a change, Lucy won't pull the football away at the last minute to show respect for my chica's being down in the dumps.
