Bridge then work around the house. We hit Irma for bfass and the coffee tasted a little off. We presumed it was the milk sio asked for a replacement. That was the same as the first so no coffer. I had the hot cakes and Dominique some scrumptious egg dish that was very spicy. We enjoyed the ambience at Irma, especially the wind wafting in from the bay.

Back at the hacienda, the prep started and, if we were to estimate hoe much work was still to be done using the baseball diamond analogy, we were approaching the plate. We covered everything in sight with sheets to protect the goods from the harsh salt air. At one point, after running out of things to cover, I tried to cover my girlie. As the afternoon wore on the place looked more and more like we were leaving. That's a good thing.

We headed down to Arcadia at the main beach about 4:15 and enjoyed the surf and each other's company. We got into a discussion about the size of cities in Canada and were surprised to discover Ottawa is #. We thought Vancouver was much bigger than Ottawa but not. I guess the provincial government in BC was not as adamant as the fools in power in Ontario, letting the likes of Surrey, Burnaby, and more stay on their own. I am sure the property owners there were happy since some people's property taxes, after the merger in Ottawa, skyrocketed.

We sauntered over to La Porteña about 5:45 and the place was sparsely occupied. Paty and Hugo arrived about 20 minutes later and the festivities commenced. We asked her about the bus service between Zihua and Guadalajara. She mentioned it is next to impossible to figure out what is going where and when on the internet. She said that a lot of info on the web could lead one on a wild goose chase. For example, believing there is a run from Zihua to Guagalajara at 6:10pm, arrive at the bus station, and be treated to locked doors.

Both she and Hugo suggested the best way to do the bus thing is to come to Zihua then scope out what may be available from there. The good part about hitting Zihua first is we have somewhere to base ourselves in until we find a trip that is not vapour ware. We discussed the concept of renting Z rather than selling. We all agreed that the problems encountered with the fringe when they rent is due to their property managers' not doing their job. If we were to rent, Paty would be our PM and we know the place would be in good hands.

Based on that advice, we will probably fly to Zihua between October 15 and 18, then ascertain how and when we can bus it to Guadalajara. We walked home after the lovely dinner and put the finishing touches on some outstanding prep for the morning departure.
