Último domingo

Oh my! It's been quite a 182 days in Z this year. Lots of, actually too much, drama with the politics at the condo. Outside of that, it has been a whirlwind of whirlwinds. We are divulging our plans to check out Chapala in the fall on our way back to this gem of a pueblo.

Church at 9am for mi chica then we will hoof it down to Café Adelita for bfast. Not sure what else we will do today. We are having a short dinner tonight ... being mi chica's famous shrimp compote.

Besides the nonsense perpetrated by some owners here, as per previous pargraph, the major disappointment this year is a toss up between the laid back nature of many musicians at GuitarFest and the stupid internot provided by Telmex. They call it Infinituum, but we call it Crap. Same old same old ripoff like what we are used to in Canada by Robbers (aka Rogers). The tempo and on-stage excitement at GuitarFest was not the same as other events Dominique (18 other events) and me (only one to compare to) have attended. Missing Eric McFadden and Omar Torrez we believe contributed to the sustained lower level of energy we are used to.

I have been surprised that mi chica's fervour of preparing for our departure has been, so far at least, mild compared to what I expected. This may have something to do with her divesting us of some hardly ever used items. We have given a lot of stuff to Juanita and Sigi and there is more to go. I am close to packed except for the stuff that has to wait until just before bedtime next Saturday. Dominique is more than happy, as am I, to occupy any free space I have in my suitcase.

I started playing another NYT game called Connections (see here) that Lynn turned me on to a while back. It is a challenge and today is the first time that I solved the puzzle for the second day in a row.

During the bridge game today someone was complaining about how long it took a player to say or do something when it was her turn. The complainer chatted with me a few times. Her signoff commen,t after a few crabby messages, was Do you see the problem here? I answered Yes and, unbeknownst to her, the problem I saw was her unnecessary bantering of me on something "horrible" another player was doing. What goes around comes around. Guess who an opponent politely complained about a minute later ... I think you can put 3 and 3 together 😋 .

The bfast at Café Adelitas was marvellous. Obviously the odd experience we had there in January was a one-off. The enchiladas were exquisite and Dominique loved her eggs. We walked both ways which is a good workout, especially since ½ of the way back is up a steady hill. We hung all afternoon and enjoyed a shrmp pasta feast for cena.

I had started reading another book by an author I had never even heard of ... Carl Hiaasen, called Skin Tight. By the fourth chapter, he had introduced so many characters I was already confused. If I am in that state after about 65 or 400+ pages, I can just imagine what it will be like by page 70 with 1 million + characters! Dominique finds the same problem when she is reading some times and closes the book for good not far from the first page. I found a Grisham book in our bookshelf so will give that a try.
